This little guy was in my tiny live showstring along with Easy Does It and Stone Sister. He also went to Midwest Minis Live! in 2001, but I can’t find his show results– Most likely he didn’t win anything, most of my little guys were wildly outclassed.

It was my first live show and I didn’t know what I was up against! *grin*

Blood was one of the last horses I used Prismacolor pencils on. I was using them inbetween the base coats for texture and on the final coat for detail work. While the colors did add some kick to the acrylics, I was having scale and blending problems. The pencil marks were just too large and didn’t have a smooth integration with the rest of the coat color.

I actually have a few WIP customs where I tried to color them in nothing but pencils. I’m still not sure if I want to finish them off, just to be stubborn, or photograph them and then start over.
