Make: Breyer
Scale: Stablemate
Mold: Scratching Foal (G2)
Color: Blue and White Stencil
Gallery: Other Color
Medium: Acrylics
Status: Painted 200? and Sold 200?

This little guy started with a solid white base and was stenciled with two different blues and was finished off with solid black eyes, mane, tail, and hooves. He’s a glossy, which accounts for some of the bad lens flare, and much cuter in person. Continue reading

Color: Flaxen Chestnut Sabino Overo
Gallery: Other
Medium: Acrylics
Status: Painted 200? and Sold 200?

While I’m not sure if this little guy’s coat pattern could actually appear in nature, it was a lot of fun to paint! He was order as a pair with Cirrus (another chestnut overo scratching foal) and the two were named after cloud formations. Continue reading

Scale: Stablemate
Mold: Scratching Foal (G2)
Color: Copper Tobiano
Gallery: Tobiano
Medium: Acrylics
Status: Painted 200? and Sold 200?

I waffled about labeling this little guy a straight tobiano since the edges of his markings have more of a sabino flavoring, but he’s fantasy horse so I figured what the heck! *grin*

I seem to have hit a pretty nice stride on the foals at the end of my run back in the mid-2000′s. Lincoln was one of the last horses I painted and I can’t see anything that I’d change on him. Continue reading

Ah, stencil horses, how I love thee! (I suppose calling this little guy and Appaloosa is pushing the definition a bit, but he is a fantasy horse after all.) Continue reading

Ah, nothing like Bablefish to pull a name out of a hat! Apfelblüte is German for Apple Blossom, since this little guy reminded me of Granny Smiths and the craziness of springtime in the orchards. Continue reading

Color: Red-bay Blanket Appaloosa
Gallery: Fantasy Appaloosa
Medium: Acrylics
Status: Painted 200? and Sold 200?

I’m very fond of the scratching foal mold, as annoying as it was to try and clean up the seams. This little guy was one of the first appaloosa patterns I did on the mold, as you can tell by the out-of-focus photos, but he certainly wasn’t the last! Continue reading

This little guy painted was part of a custom order (paired up with Cumulus, a flaxen chestnut sabino overo foal). The cloud motive fit nicely with the paint patterns… now I’m tempted to break out my old Earth Science textbook and do it again! Continue reading

Mold: Scratching Foal (G2)
Color: Blue Blanket Appaloosa
Gallery: Fantasy Appaloosa
Medium: Acrylics
Status: Painted 200? and Home Herd

This little guy is one of my ‘Home Herd’ that I’m never planning on selling and thus when I unpacked everyone for the Great Body Box count, I got a chance to get new photos and get him safely onto a display shelf.

He’s actually one of my earlier paintjobs, done right after Devil May Cry as I recall, but he’s none the worse for it. I need to go back and fix the chip on his hoof, but otherwise he held up pretty well to the rough life he suffered in the Box ‘o Doom.

This is the second half of a custom order, the unnamed rearing arabian was done in a matching coat pattern. Not much to say about this little one I didn’t already say on the adult, although I wasn’t as happy with the paint pattern on this one. Continue reading
