World of Treadcraft

World of Treadcraft!

Just to make things interesting, not only do I dual-box, but I also play World of Warcraft while walking on a treadmill.

It’s taken a bit of an adjustment to move from playing one character to two—and then to playing two while walking. The learning curve hasn’t been as steep as I had feared, but I have a feeling things are going to get harder as I go along…

This page tracks my progress—sort of a Walk to Rivendell, only with the end goal being 364 miles and a pair of decently geared (and competently played) shadow priests.

Note: The posts linked below deal mainly with the joy that is starting a new habit and working with the treadmill itself. The leveling posts for Illysu and Illysa go more in-depth on what sort of keybindings, macros, and playstyles I’ve found work well with Warcraft walking.

    • The initial learning curve is a bit steep—it took me a while to get to where I could go 2mph and still play games like Starcraft or Diablo. I can actually bump it up to 2.5 in WoW most of the time now, even when I’m dual-boxing. Not sure how well that will hold up in PvP, but it’s been a lot of fun to try! :)

I’ve let this get a bit out of date, will have to sit down this weekend and get things caught up again…
